Native Plant Propagation Workshop

8:30 AM - 2:00 PM

The Mississippi Entomological Museum and the Mississippi Native Plant Society present a native plant propagation workshop. Participants will experience hands-on propagation methods led by experts in the field with a chance to take home locally collected native seeds. Attendees are welcome to bring their own collected native seed to share, or to inquire about the right propagation methods for that seed.

Presenters include:

  • Gail Barton - Horticulturist, Native Plant Grower, Educator
  • Dr. JoVonn Hill - MS Entomological Museum Director
  • Brady Dunaway - MS Museum of Natural Science Heritage Program Ecologist
  • Nate Venarske - MNPS Webmaster
  • Joe MacGown – Artist & Scientific Illustrator

There will be an emphasis on Black Belt Prairie plant species along with other wildflower and grass seed collections. Registration fee will be $20.00 for all with the exception for students that can attend for free. Limited to 40 participants.

Early refreshments will be provided, but bring your own lunch for the noon break.
