Black Belt Branch Experiment Station
Research Projects
GPS / Remote Sensing Studies
Research conducted at the Black Belt Branch Experiment Station includes testing multiresolutional texture analysis methods for the detection of aggregated weed patches in a soybean production setting. The studies are conducted on soybean fields located at the station. Features extracted from these analysis methods will be compared to ground truth data collected the day of image acquisition. Preliminary research of these features were tested for their ability to discriminate between nonweedy and weedy areas of a soybean field.
Other research conducted at the station includes field studies examining new herbicides used in soybean and wheat production
